(More customer reviews)I bought this gathering table with the matching stools almost 2 yrs ago. I am amazed at how well is has held up to family/children. The hidden leaf insert is awesome. I usually keep it round 48 inches for my family of 4, but when we have company, just pull the table apart (it actually has metal gears inside!) and the leaf unfolds. 6 people can thensit around the table very comfortably. I have even added 2 additional stools for larger crowds. 8 people can fit, but it does get a little tight. The wood finish on top of the table is AMAZING. Not only is is beautiful it has really held up to the trauma of daily life with a toddler. You'll think you need a coaster for wet glasses, but you really don't as it just wipes clean with a damp cloth. The black paint underneath can chip a little, but I've noticed that more with the counter stools getting knocked around. Be ready to wipe frequently as the black paint really does show the dust and milk splatters, but I can live with that as it is a very sturdy product that has received a ton of complements from family and friends. If you are looking for a quality gathering table and don't have room for a huge one, this is it! Oh and this sale price that is now being offered is a great deal! fyi, I ordered the matching counter stools from another site (csn stores) and they are holding up very well!...and comfortable too!
