I ordered this table online and received it by mail after a week.Don't let lazy FedEx drop it off anywhere besides your doorstep (that's another story).I unpacked it and to my horror, it had patches of small holes 1-2 mm deep and wide all over each wood surface.First I tried to get my money back from my credit card company.When they told me I had to contact the vendor to resolve the dispute, I filed a complaint with Visiondecor through Amazon and expressed my displeasure.I also told them I didn't think I would be fairly compensated for my labor and time (moving the box up and down stairs, unpacking it, repackaging it).I had to repackage the table, let FedEx come pick it up, and wait for the replacement table to arrive.When the replacement table arrived, I opened it and saw the same hole patterns in the same places all over again!I wrote back white hot with anger thinking that they had merely tried to sand down a small layer off the table top and send the same defective table back to me.The response from Visiondecor was even more infuriating.The customer service rep said that she went to check the first table I had sent back along with some other tables in stock and found this pattern in all of the tables in stock..."it's the wood...none of our other customers have complained."Why didn't they check the second table before sending it out to me?Saying that none of their other customers have complained made my blood boil.Nowhere in the world do you see table surfaces full of holes, nor would this be acceptable to anyone who has to use and stare at such a table everyday.That was a classic example of a "it's not us, it's YOU" type of blame deflection.The entire process went as predicted, with zero compensation for my time and hard labor.The table also weighed an astonishing amount suggesting it was made of particle board, not solid wood.I suspect that they wanted the tables back because they want to try to hide the defects and unload them on some other customers...there's no way these tables are worth the shipping costs back to the manufacturer in China.Even if they had let me keep a table full of ugly holes and gave me some or all of my money back, I still would have gotten sick of it real quick.If Visiondecor is going to sell a table full of holes, they should provide closeup, hi-resolution pictures of the holes, not some fuzzy photo zoomed so far out.Since they have not provided such photos, I will gladly post my photos here.
If you're looking to buy a dining table online, I wouldn't suggest it.I went out the very next day after I sent the "second table" back via FedEx to get a beautiful new dining table from a local chain store.It cost more money after delivery and warranty but at least I got a table that didn't look like Swiss cheese.At least with a local store you can inspect the item and have them take it back if it has major defects, and with a warranty you can call up a repairman to fix any problems.Look up the approval ratings of the various third party vendors before you buy.Amazon has no quality control over these third party vendors.The Amazon customer reviews of Visiondecor show that 8% of customers left negative feedback.That's far too high.
